Abstract

The fire fighting nozzle has two alternative outlets, one giving a water jet (37) and the other a water spray (43). Selection is by means of a valve (32) manipulated by a turnkey (52). The water enters the rear of the nozzle and is distributed through a stop valve. This is operated by a trigger in the handle. After passing through the barrel, the water is directed to one or other of the outlets, depending on the position of the valve plug. This has a straight-through passage (33) to the jet and a radial passage (34) communicating with the spray when the plug is turned through 90 deg..
