Claims (9)

What we claim is:-
1. A process for increasing the coefficient of friction of textile yarn or fabric comprising applying to at least part of said yarn or fabric an inert, non-slump, room temperature vulcanising silicone rubber and thereafter vulcanising the rubber. -
2. A process as claimed in Claim 1, wherein non-slump silicone rubber is dispersed in a liquid vehicle, and the dispersion is sprayed or extruded onto the yarn or fabric, the vehicle being volatilized after application of the dispersion onto said yarn or fabric.
3. A process as clamed in Claim 2, wherein the vehicle is a substance which will evaporate at ambient temperature in a time which is less than that required to cure the silicone rubber.
4. A process as claimed in Claim 1, wherein' the silicone rubber is a blend of an inert non-slump silicone rubber with an inert self-levelling silicone rubber. '
5. A process as claimed. in Claim 4, wherein the inert non-slump silicone rubber has an elongation of not less than 450¾ and the inert self-levelling silicone 'rubber has an elongation of not less than ½0¾.
6. A process as claimed in Claine H and 5, wherein trichloroethane is added as a lubricant. ·» / 40994 - /
7. A process as claimed in any preceding Claim, wherein the mixture is filtered so that air bubbles are removed therefrom and the mixture sheared before said mixture, is applied onto the yam or fabric .
8. A process for increasing the coefficient of friction of textile yarn or fabric aa claimed in Claim 1 and substantially as described herein with reference to the Example.
