Abstract

In the welding process, a chamber around the workpiece is filled with gas, and a welding rod with a flux core with >=1 strong de-oxidiser is used. An arc zone between the rod and the workpiece is screened by a gas mixt. with >=1 inert gas and oxygen and/or an oxygen-contg. gas. This is split to form free oxygen in the arc or reacts with the de-oxidiser. Method is used for arc welding under water or where the pressure is higher than atmospheric. The weld quantity is good and the weld is clearly visible during the work. [FR2337606A1]
