Abstract
PURPOSE: To create a comfortable environment in the chamber and improve working efficiency by connecting the electric power source, sealing gas supply mechanism, control and supervisory mechanism provided to a support ship and the welding mechanism in the chamber lowered into water by means of cables.

Thence, the operator welds the pipes 2 by a water cooled MIG welding method or the like while making communication with a control room 28. During this time, the welding conditions, the operator's safety, etc. are checked with a television camera 38 and are communicated with a microphone 39. The refilling of the environmental gas and its pressure regulation during the work are accomplished by the control room 28 of the support ship or the control panel 42 in the chamber 10.
