Abstract

1329636 Laminated papers PIRELLI GENERAL CABLE WORKS Ltd 14 April 1972 [20 April 1971] 10245/71 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions D2 and H1] A paper for use in screening electric cables comprises a semi-conducting paper ply and an insulating paper ply of impermeability at least 20 Î 10<SP>6</SP> Emanueli units (E.U.) The semiconducting ply may be paper loaded with carbon black. The insulating ply may have an apparent density of at least 1À0 gm./cm.<SP>3</SP> and an impermeability of (20-2000) x 10<SP>6</SP> E.U. The overall apparent density and impermeability are typically 1À0-1À15 gm./cm.<SP>3</SP> and (100-300) Î 10<SP>6</SP> E.U. The thickness of each ply may be at least 0À025 mm. and the ratio of thicknesses of the plies should not exceed 1 : 3 in either sense. The overall thickness should not exceed 0À20 mm. [GB1329636A]
