STRUKTORSKOTEKHNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT SINTETICHESKIKH SVERKHTVERDYKH MATERIALOV I INSTRUMENTA GOSPLANA UKRAINSKOI SSR 26 Aug 1970 [24 April 1970] 40996/70 Heading C1A Diamond is prepared by subjecting a carbonaceous material, aluminium or boron and calcium carbonate or calcium oxide to a temperature of at least 1800 C. and corresponding a pressure within the diamond stable region. The carbonaceous material includes carbon e.g. graphite and materials which liberate carbon under the conditions of the reaction. The charge may consist of a mixture of powders of the components. The pressure may be at least 80 Kbar.
