Abstract

1277923 Suspended ceilings UNITED STATES GYPSUM CO 19 Aug 1969 [30 Sept 1968] 41294/69 Heading E1W Ceiling panels 28 are suspended on longitudinal framing member 22 with horizontally extending flanges 30, 32 which support the panel edges and a portion 38 offset over one of the flanges 30 so that it can receive above it the edge portion 46 of the panel normally resting on the flange 32 and can accommodate below it the edge portion of the panel engaging the flange 30. The framing members 22 may be fixed directly to the supporting ceiling above or may be clipped onto wires 24 on bars 18 of a supporting framework. L-section framing members Fig. 3 (not shown) engage slots (60, 62) in the panel edges normal to those engaging the members 22. The offset portion of the framing member may extend obliquely up from the horizontally extending flanges Fig. 6 (not shown). [GB1277923A]
