Abstract

According to the proposed method the metallic component is heated up and the surface coating is melted on it. High frequency induction pre-heating is proposed followed by spraying-on the intended metal coating material which is then melted, also by high frequency heating. The pre-heating, spraying, and melting processes are started in a sequence and maintained continuously along the cylindrical component in a downward direction. - Equipment is proposed, comprising elements for holding and heating the component and spraying-on the coating material, as follows: the component is surrounded by high-frequency induction type pre-heater and an induction type heater for melting the surface coating. A spray gun (11) is located between the heaters. The heaters and the spray gun are arranged so that their distance from the component being treated can be adjusted. - The heaters and the spray gun can also be moved along the component or the component can be arranged to move with respect to the heaters and the spray gunen
