Abstract

Fine particles of heat sensitive pollutants or other suspended solids are removed by floatation. The micro-bubbles used are produced at the required rate, by an energy efficient method involving cooling of the recirculating water in the pressurised, recirculating floatation system. In the case of flotation not involving pressurised recirculation, air absorption is ensured after cooling the whole vol. of waste water. The waste water is cooled before it is routed to the floatation chamber. - Any type of cooling may be used in connection with the floatation type waste water treatment, including heat recovery in a closed circuit cooling system, cooling tower, heat recovery by heat pump or laying the waste water pipe system underground.
