Abstract
1,134,763. Treating sewage. PURAC A.B. 17 Aug., 1966 [28 Oct., 1965], No. 36841/66. Heading C1C. [Also in Division B2] Sewage is treated with gases to float the solid matter for surface collection after if desired a chemical pretreatment. Effluent is supplied to pipe 25 for the solids to be floated by the air/purified water mixture from pipes 31 and 29. The sludge is removed by a scraper (not shown) into wells 35 while the purified liquid leaves via weirs 21. The cylindrical insert 11 in the polygonal tank 1 gives an even distribution of sludge on the surface.
