A találmány tárgya eljárás D-pantoténsav-termelő mikroorganizmusokelőállítására és javítására felerősítéssel, különösen a ketopantoát-reduktázt kódoló nukleotidszekvenciák, előnyösen a panE-gén fokozottexpressziójával, önmagában vagy egymással kombinálva, és adott esetbenaz ilvC-gén hozzáadásával. A találmány továbbá ezeket anukleotidszekvenciákat tartalmazó mikroorganizmusokra is vonatkozik.
