Hosszúkás nagyfeszültségű szigetelőtag (2) villamos szigetelőanyagbóllévő csőből vagy rúdból van kialakítva, hossztengelye irányábanegymástól elválasztott elektródok (6) párjával ellátva. Aszigetelőanyag külső felületének egy része, előnyösen annak teljesegésze, villamos igénybevételt szabályzó átkapcsoló tulajdonságú,mátrixban biztosított varisztor por szemcsés töltőanyagát tartalmazóanyagból lévő, az egyes elektródokkal (6) villamosan érintkezőréteggel (8) van bevonva.
