Abstract

The invention relates to cosmetic and dermatological composition for psoriatic skin, scalp treatment and care which contains from about 0.1 to about 10 % by weight, preferably from about 0.1 to about 8 % by weight of aqueous-alcoholicglyceric extract of the mixture comprising nettle, chelidonia, oak bark, willow bark, calendula, dandelion roof, camomile, achillea, dill and parsley, from about 0.1 to about 5.0 % by weight thyme oil, lemon oil and tea-tree oil, from about 0.5 to about 8 % by weight maize germ oil, from about 0.2 to about 6 % by weigh salts of natural origin, preferably thermal salt from Sárvár, from about 0.3 to about 10 % by weight propolis extract and from about 0.1 to about 8 % by weight tocopherolacetate and d-panthenol as active agent together with a) additives selected from common ingredients well known from the cosmetic industry such as from about 10 to about 60 % by weight foaming agent and from about 2 to about 10 % by weight foaming agent which is at the same time stabiliser as well, from about 2 to about 25 % by weight fat of natural origin, from about 0.5 to about 10.0 % by weight bees wax and from about 1 to about 15 % by weight skin softener and hydrating substance, distilled water, and preservatives; or additives selected from emulsifiers, fats, conditioners, absorption promoters, distilled water and preservatives.

Description

The present invention relates to cosmetic and dermatological compositions for the treatment and care of psoriatic skin and scalp.

Psoriasis, also known as psoriasis, occupies a special place among skin diseases. The disease is most often caused by hereditary predisposition and various provocative factors. Not infectious, not always itchy, often spontaneous, but often returning.

The skin of a healthy person is renewed every 28 days, with epithelial cells slowly flowing up from the deeper layers of the skin, losing their nucleus and turning into horn cells and then detaching from the surface of the skin.

In psoriasis, this process is accelerated and takes 4-6 days, so there is no time for normal keratitis. The epithelial cells do not detach, so a thickened cornucopia is formed, as a result of which the behavior of the lower layers of the skin changes, the smaller blood vessels expand, and different cells migrate there. This process results in a distinctive picture of psoriasis: a reddish infiltration on the surface of the skin, which is usually covered with silver-white scales.

To date, there is no cure for the underlying disease. However, once the disease has been diagnosed, there are a number of treatments available that can temporarily or even permanently interrupt the symptoms.

There are local or systemic therapeutic options for treating psoriasis. If the disease is not uncommon, topical therapy is most often preferred.

Among the active ingredients of topical formulations, tar derivatives, steroids (corticosteroids), dithranol, salicylic acid-containing petroleum jelly or a hydrophilic ointment are most commonly used. An example of a salicylic ointment is described in Hungarian Patent Publication No. T74 460.

A very common active ingredient is a combination of an alcoholic-aqueous extract of some herbs (for example, Hungarian Patent Application No. 212,305) or some vegetable seed oils (see Hungarian Patent Publication No. P9,700,451 E) in fatty creams, and certain salts of natural origin can be used in therapy. Dead Sea Salt - in combination with sunlight therapy or most recently with synthetic vitamin D3 supplementation with UV therapy.

Psoricur oil (manufactured by Unipharma Rt.) Is commercially available, containing certain herbal active ingredients and propolis together with petroleum jelly cosmetics and peppermint oil.

We have discovered, on the one hand, the combination of an aqueous alcoholic extract of certain herbs, a natural salt mixture enriched with certain vegetable essential oils and germ oils, propolis extract, certain cations and anions, and vitamins, and combining them with which has proven to be effective in treating psoriatic symptoms in the psoriasis or other parts of the body to an unexpected extent; that is, a significantly better result with the combination than the effect obtained with each of the above-mentioned composition types.

The composition of the invention comprises 0.1-10% by weight of 0.1-8% by weight water-alcohol glycerol extract of a mixture of nettle, hawthorn, oak bark, willow bark, marigold, dandelion, chamomile flower, dill and parsley, 0.1-5.0% by weight of thyme, lemon and tea tree oil, 0.5-8% by weight of corn germ oil, 0.2-6% by weight of natural salt, preferably Sárvár thermal salt, 0.3-10% by weight of propolis extract and 0.1 to 8% by weight of tocopherol, tocopherol acetate or palmitate and d-panthenol as active ingredient.

The composition is formulated as a shampoo using general auxiliaries known in the cosmetics industry, 10 to 60% by weight of sodium lauryl sulfate, an ammonium lauryl sulfate, and 2 to 10% by weight of antifoaming and stabilizing agents.

One of the key points in the external treatment of psoriasis is to moisturize and grease dry skin. To ensure this, the composition contains 2-25% by weight of natural fat (cocoa butter, linseed oil, castor oil), 0.5-10.0% by weight of beeswax, and 1-15% by weight of emollients and moisturizers (urea, allantoin).

The present invention is based on the combination of the active ingredients, which are otherwise used separately in certain formulations, in a combination where the effects of each component are potentiated, or in a unique combination of 18 active ingredients with softening and degreasing agents which ensure that the active ingredients are optimally absorbed and prevented and replaced by the shampoo fat loss caused by the surfactants in the shampoo.
