Field of the Invention The present invention relates to winter durum wheat varieties for dry pasta production, which are more abundant than commercial varieties and have good quality in the mill and pasta industry.

Under domestic conditions, the durability of durum wheat is severely limited by the cold winter weather. The production risk can be reduced by at least the cultivation of durum wheat varieties that reach at least the frost resistance of winter barley, thus it is possible to supply dry pasta production from domestic sources, to reduce imports and to meet the annual export demand. Durum wheat has special nutritional qualities that make it suitable for dry pasta making, so it is essential to produce a new breed of raw material, preferably of good quality, which can be used in the pasta industry, regardless of the vintage. The winter durum wheat varieties currently grown in Hungary do not fully meet the expectations of the growers, so there is a demand for new varieties with better characteristics.

The winter durum wheat variety Odmadur 1 is well known. The first leaf does not have anthocyanin coloration or is very weak, its growth type is erect to semi erect. The frequency of the deciduous flagella is absent or very low. It has an early-to-middling time. The waxiness of the flagpole's leaf sheath is medium, its leaf wax is slightly waxed, its anthocyanin is not or only slightly colored. Its upper stalk is not or very lightly haired, the stalk is slightly waxed, the stalk is slightly to medium waxed. The plant has a medium height. Its fibers are found along the entire length of the ear, their length is the same as the length of the ear, and their color is whitish. It has a short, slightly colored, compact, parallel shape in profile. The shape of the calyx is elongated, the shoulder of the calyx is prominent and narrow. It has good fertility and is more susceptible to powdery mildew. Semolina seed grain of the variety is of good quality for use in the pasta industry, having an average steel content of 42% and a wet gluten content of 29.7% (OMMI, 1994-1996). Phytotron frost resistance is medium, 71.32% of the plants remain viable after cold treatment at -13 ° C.

The two types mentioned above have the common disadvantage that they do not at the same time have excellent frost resistance, outstanding productivity, good resistance and good technological quality. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a durum wheat variety which is more resistant than standard varieties, is winter resistant, has good milling and paste quality and is resistant to powdery mildew.

The above problem was solved by producing winter durum wheat with a transitory growth type, strong flagellate leaf-waxiness, medium time of cereal, parallel to profile, slightly colored at ripening, oblong shape of the shoulder blade;

it is swollen, the eyes are half-elongated, it is not phenol-like or very faintly colored, its lifestyle is autumn.
