Abstract

Disclosed is an anchoring screw for systems that secure rails. The rails are mounted using extended screw heads on a stable substructure such as concrete sleepers or concrete carriage-ways. According to the invention, the novel anchoring screw has four basic features: i.e. a shortened rail screw thread (1) that corresponds to approximately one third of the entire length of the screw; a shank section without a thread (3) and which is joined to the head of the screw (2), whereby the diameter thereof matches the external diameter of the thread of the rail screw; a metric thread in the end region of the upper part of the shank of the anchoring screw, whereby the diameter of the upper shank section (4) is smaller than the above-mentioned upper part of the screw (1,3); a screw head (2) with a diameter that is smaller than the maximum diameter of the shank of the screw. The metric thread in the upper part (4) of the screw enables axial forces to be transmitted via suitable connector elements.
