999,769. Coaxial cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Nov. 11, 1963, No. 44377/63. Heading H1A. In a coaxial cable, to prevent whiskers formed on the central conductor during its drawing down and subsequent bending, from reducing the imization potential of the cable, the central conductor is provided with a coating sufficiently strong to bind the whiskers to the conductor. The coating is a polyvinyl acetal emulsion having a thickness of less than À0001 inch, but copper plating, an epoxy resin or a polystyrene composition may be used. The central conductor is supported in disc-spacers 2 the central hole in which is of slightly smaller diameter than the cable. The outer conductor 3 is formed from a longitudinally folded tape and the outer sheath is of polythene.
