Abstract
A niobium-base alloy consists of W 5-25%; Zr and/or Hf 0.5-3%; one or more of Y, La, Ce, Pr 0.17-2%; C in an amount such that the atomic ratio of Zr and/or Hf to C is 0.5.3; Nb and impurities, the balance. Ingots of the alloy were vacuum annealed at 3500 DEG F., extruded at 2600-2700 DEG F., swaged at 2000-2200 DEG F. and cold rolled.
