Abstract
998,564. Transformers and inductors. NEWTON BROS. (DERBY) Ltd. Feb. 28, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 8145/63. Heading H1T. An inductive component for varying an air gap between two core parts comprises an " I "-shaped core 12 which is movable against leaf-springs 18, 20 by the rotation of two bars 24 and 26 between the movable core 12 and fixed parts 16A of the frame 16 and the middle limb 10B of the " E " stampings 10. The two bars 24 and 26 each form the longer limbs of an " L " piece, the shorter limbs 25, 27, respectively, are located in rod 28, so that by adjusting screw 34 the air gaps are varied. Any backlash in the transmission of movement from the screw 34 to the " I " core 12 is eliminated by spring 36.
