Abstract
998,434. Tiered trolleys. E. C. STEWART. March 25, 1964 [July 10, 1963], No. 12741/64. Headings A4B and A4H. [Also in Division B7] A tiered trolley, e.g. for transporting tins of dough to and from a baking oven, or for use in the ceramic industry, comprises a wheeled or castered framework on each end of which are metal angle section members 6 which support slidable shelves, the front side of the framework being closed by a pair of tubular metalframed gates 10 hinged at 12 to uprights 1 of the framework, each gate comprising metal angle-section members 14, uprights 13, uprights 15, the members 14 being aligned with the cross-members 6 when the gates are opened through 90 degrees so that the shelves may then be slid outward on the members 14 clear of the framework. Stop strips 16 are welded to the uprights 11 to limit the gate opening to 90 degrees and the gates are lockable in the closed position. Each slidable shelf comprises a metal mesh 7 on a metal angle section frame 8 which has one or more side projections 17 adapted to engage the uprights of the trolley to limit the extent of outward and inward sliding of the shelves. The uprights 13 extend downward from the gate frames so that they just clear the ground to prevent toppling of the trolley when a shelf is slid forward.
