Abstract

1,035,255. Display fittings; shelves; trays. A. R. LOWE. Aug. 28, 1964 [May 30, 1963], No. 21596/63. Headings A4A, A4B and A4H. A display rack for mechandise comprises tiers of shelves 2, formed by angle-section frames 7 and supported by arms 6 of a suspended tubular framework 8 to extend across a shop window, and interchangeable standard rectangular dished trays 8 having flanges 11 and with cut-away corners 12, the trays being removably supported in the frames by engagement of the frames in opposite side or end flanges. The trays and supporting framework are of metal, e.g. stainless steel, or of plastics and the trays may be perforated, of mesh construction, or formed with depressions in the base to locate goods. Stabilizers secured to the sides of the window and a ground-contacting leg 10 may be provided. The window bottom is replaced by a series of trolleys 1 mounted on ball castors and each consisting of an angle-section frame 16 which overhang the sill 18 of the window and supports standard trays. Rubber buffers are provided between the trolleys and an ornamental front 19 is provided. A modified trolley has short front legs provided with castors running on rails provided on an existing window bottom.
