Abstract
475,281. Shelf brackets. HARRIS & SHELDON, Ltd., SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and BUTLER, H. G. June 25, 1936, No. 17622. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (v)] In adjustable shelf brackets of the kind comprising transverse horizontal bars 6 having two or more laterally spaced downwardly directed hooks 7 adapted to engage with one of a series of slots 4 in the uprights 3 of a supporting frame, the hooks are pressed out of the bars so as to leave apertures 8 therein and are situated inwards of the ends of the bars. Two angle-section brackets are employed for each shelf 2 and the shelf has down-turned flanges 5 adapted to fit between the bracket and the upright. As shown the slot 9 of the hook is wider than the thickness of the upright 3 allowing the bracket to be tilted when inserting the shelf, but the bracket may be maintained in a vertical position spaced from the upright by a distance equal to the thickness of the flange 5 either by projections on the ends of the bar 6 or by spacing the slot 9 from the bar.
