Abstract

1437628 Racks; fixing furniture to walls AMERICAN STERILIZER CO 3 Aug 1973 [7 Aug 1972] 36988/73 Headings A4B and A4U [Also in Division B7] A rack structure for supporting cabinets or boxlike containers comprises a vertically mounted support 4-1 of channel shaped cross-section, the web or front wall 80 of the support 41 being formed with a plurality of vertically spaced, horizontally elongate slots 95-103 which selectively receive a hook-like hanger bar 53 with a length substantially equal to the length of the slots and the lower edge of each slot 95-103 having a rearwardly directed ledge 108 on which the hanger bar 53 is supported, the hanger bar 53 forming part of an inter-connecting unit 50 secured to or integrally formed with the container, and the unit 50 further including a pair of stabilizing projections 56, 57 with a pair of mutually divergent, opposed faces 58, 59 which straddle and contact the sides of the support 41. As shown, the upper end of the support 41 is bent into a hook-like formation 86, 89, 90 which hooks over a leg 91 of a fixed bracket 92. In other embodiments, the support may be mounted on a wheeled carrier, a frame secured to a wheeled carrier, an endless conveyer; or on a pair of posts extending between floor and ceiling.
