Abstract
1,240,109. Cabinets. T. W. OPHER & SON. Ltd., T. W. OPHER and W. C. ROGERS. 12 Nov., 1968 [15 Nov., 1967], No. 52069/67. Heading A4B. A collapsible cabinet comprises a back wall 10 in two parts hinged together, at 11, along a vertical axis, two side walls 12 with front and rear, inturned flanges 13, 14 and hinged, at 15 to the side edges of the rear wall 10, a top 16 and a lower shelf 17 hinged to opposite side walls 12 to lie flat against the associated side wall between its flanges in the folded condition and releasably engageable with the opposite side wall to hold the cabinet in erected condition. The free end 20 or the top 16 engages over the upper edge of one side wall 12 and the free end of the lower half 17 engages a member (23, Fig. 6) secured to the other side wall 12. Intermediate shelves 25 are removably supported on members (26, Fig. 6) secured to the side walls 12. A suspended shelf 27 is removably supported at one end by a side wall 12 and at the other end by links 29 pivotally carried by a shelf 25. Pivoted plates 32 provide additional support for the lower shelf 17. An enclosure 37 is detachably fitted on the top 16. Adjustable feet 45 are fitted. Side shelves 34 are supported by links 35 (and 36, Fig. 4). The cabinet may be lifted by handles 47 in the folded condition and by openings 46 in the erected condition.
