Abstract

807,047. Work benches. CLARK & DAVIES Ltd., S.A.T. May 27, 1957 [May 28, 1956], No. 16469/56. Class 61. [Also in Group XX] A combined storage and work table unit comprises a cabinet 1 including four side walls and a lid 2 hingec to one of the side walls a flap 5 hinged to a second side wall and hinged stays 6 for securing the flap in a raised horizontal position, the upper part 8 of a third side wall being moveable from its normal position intc a mounting in the oper top of the cabinet, when the lid is raised so as to form a work table. The part 8 has projecting plates 12 secured adjacent the lower edge thereof and a laterally extending pin 9 at each side edge; the plates 12 are adapted to engage behind the fixed side part 7 of the third side and the pins 9 engage slots 10 in vertical members 11. The part 8 is mounted as a work table on horizontal struts at the rear and front of the cabinet, the hinges 12 engaging in slots 15 provided in the back of the cabinet. The cabinet is divided into two storage compartments by a peg-board partition 19, one compartment having a number of drawers 23, 24, 25. Two sockets are provided for mounting a photographic enlarger support 16, one for mounting the enlarger 20 for storage in the cabinet and the other 22 for mounting the enlarger so that the flap 2 may serve as an enlarger table. A dark room lamp 31 is pivotally mounted on the lid and supports are provided inside the lid for a clock, time switch and photographic paper.
