Abstract

996,769. Valve oscillating circuits. RADYNE Ltd. Jan. 6, 1964 [Oct. 4, 1962], No. 37600/62. Heading H3F. [Also in Division H1] The invention relates to a valve oscillator for high frequency dielectric heating of the type described in Specification 877,014, comprising a cavity resonator 1 in which the cavity is resonated by means of a pair of series-connected condensers formed by cylindrical elements 6, 8 attached to opposite walls 20, 21 of the cavity and a common cylindrical element 7 which is insulated from the cavity walls. According to the invention this inner structure is surrounded by further cylindrical elements 9, 10, 11 which are alternately connected to the opposite walls of the cavity, forming a further capacity in parallel with the series-connected condensers. The arrangement gives a reduction in the amplitude of harmonic frequencies at the output coupling loop 22. An alternative arrangement of the elements 6, 8 is also described in the Specification (Fig. 2, not shown), which also discloses a further modification in which the element 6 is omitted, the corresponding series capacity being provided by the anode to cathode capacity of the valve (Fig. 3, not shown).
