Abstract

994,690. Brackets for mine roof support bars. JOSEPH WRIGHT & CO. (FABRICATIONS) Ltd. June 19, 1961 [Jan. 14, 1961], No. 1637/61. Heading E1E. A bracket 1 for mine roof support bars consists of a fixed lug 3, 6 together with a relatively adjustable lug 8, 9, 10 for clamping to a bar 14 and a roller 12 for supporting a second bar 14a for advancement purposes. The lug 8, 9, 10 is actuated by a wedge, not shown, and the roller 12 is flanked by a retaining plate 13. The portions 6, 10 of the lugs may be upturned to accommodate bars having tapered flanges, see Fig. 3 (not shown) and an additional roller attachment may be disposed at the free end or underside of the slotted tongue 4 of the bar 1.
