[Also in Division B4] A strut for interconnecting mine arch supports 12 consists of a slotted tube 10 which is held in position by a slotted retaining sleeve 18 as shown, a tongue 21 on the member 10 engaging in a slot in the sleeve to hold it captive. The sleeve is retracted by a hand operated extractor device having screw and nut adjustment means, see Fig. 4 (not shown) or rack and pawl adjustment means.
