Abstract
993,889. Lifting or laying railway track. FRANZ PLASSER, [trading as FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN]. May 31, 1962 [June 8, 1961], No. 21013/62. Heading E1G. Railway track laying or lifting apparatus comprises a load platform such as a wagon 4, a ramp 5 and a slideway 2 which is drawn along between the track and the ballast bed. In track laying, Fig. 1, an articulated slideway 2 is towed along under a newly laid section of track 1 to the point shown in Fig. 1 by a vehicle 3. A section of track is then drawn from the wagon 4 over the ramp 5 on to the slideway 2 as far as a stop 2<SP>1</SP> by means of a winch 3<SP>1</SP> on the vehicle 3. The slideway and the track section it carries are drawn forward until the new section can be joined to the end of the last laid section, Fig. 3. The wagon 4 is then moved up on to the newly laid portion of track and the operation is repeated. For raising track sections, Fig. 7, a wedge-shaped member 7 is attached to the forward edge of the slideway and is provided with a ramp portion 8 which can be raised to guide a track section on to the ramp 5.
