[Also in Division D1] An open ended socket 38 for a webbing end 46 has a flared cavity formed by arcuate walls that merge without sharp bends or shoulders with the smaller of the two openings. The webbing end is splayed out and embedded in a resilient bonding agent, for example a thixotropic polyester surfacing gel coat, although other plastics such as epoxy, resorcinal, or polyester resin may be used.
