Abstract
991,262. Steam-heated pressure chambers. GETINGS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS A.B. Jan. 28, 1963 [Jan. 27, 1962], No. 3461/63. Heading B1X. A steam-heated pressure chamber having a substantially rectangular cross-section is provided with external wall stiffeners, bent into V-shaped channels, and extending peripherally around the chamber, the channels being welded to the walls of the chamber to form the only steam-spaces. As shown, an autoclave with substantially plane side-walls 1 has two' channels 5 running peripherally around the chamber, each channel being formed by four plates 6 bent to a V-shape and joined at the rounded corners of the chamber by welding the plates 6 to angle plates bent to the same V-shape and curved to fit the corners of the vessel. The plane rear wall 2 carries conventional stiffeners in the form of reinforcing ribs 7 consisting of flat iron bars welded along one edge and in an upright position to the rear walls and to the side-walls as shown.
