Abstract
1452113 Magnetrons HITACHI Ltd 14 Dec 1973 [20 Dec 1972] 58131/73 Heading H1D In a strapped magnetron in which the straps are mounted in rectangular grooves 3, Fig. 11, of the anode vanes 2, the inner strap 5 is provided with integral offset inwardly directed protrusions 11 which contact both a side and the bottom of the grooves 3 in alternate vanes, the other strap 4 having similar outwardly directed protrusions Figs. 7 and 12 (not shown), which contact the other side and the bottom of the grooves 3 in the other vanes. In the modified arrangement of Fig. 13, the offset projections are formed by a shearing process which extends into the body of the strap. The arrangement is stated to reduce thermal distortion effects in operation of the tube.
