Abstract

The invention comprises a compound of the formula <FORM:0990274/C2/1> or <FORM:0990274/C2/2> in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R1 represents a hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy or methyl group, Y represents a chlorine atom and X represents a hydrogen or chlorine atom and a process for the preparation thereof which comprises reacting a 2,4,6-trichlorophenyl hypochlorite, which may or may not be substituted by chlorine in the 3 and/or 5 positions, with a compound of the formula <FORM:0990274/C2/3> in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R1 represents a hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy or methyl group. Examples are furnished.ALSO:Fungicidal compositions comprise a compound of the formula <FORM:0990274/A5-A6/1> <FORM:0990274/A5-A6/2> in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R1 represents a hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy or methyl group, Y represents a chlorine atom and X represents a hydrogen or chlorine atom and a carrier.
