Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0974981/C1/1> (wherein R represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a nitro group) and the preparation thereof by reacting 5,7-dibromo-8-hydroxyquinoline with an acid anhydride or acid chloride, or a mixture thereof, of which the free acid has the general formula <FORM:0974981/C1/2> Pharmaceutical compositions, having pharmacodynamic and in some cases disinfectant or fungicidal properties, contain a compound I and an inert carrier.
