Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0932017/IV(a)/1> and their acid addition salts, wherein R1 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, and R2 a 1-alkyl-pyrrolidyl-(2), 1-alkyl-pyrrolidyl-(3) or a 1-alkyl-piperidyl-(2) in which each alkyl group contains 1-4 carbon atoms, the preparation thereof by reacting an appropriate 3-mercaptopphenothiazine with a haloalkylamine Hal-CH2-R2 wherein Hal represents a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom, and pharmaceutical compositions (having drug-potentiating and, in some cases, anti-histaminic, adrenaline inhibiting or sedative activity) comprising the compounds of the invention together with an inert carrier.
