1423017 Phosphorothionoamidate diesters SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 14 Dec 1973 [15 Dec 1972 (2)] 58187/73 Heading C2P [Also in Division C1] Novel compounds of the general formula wherein R 1 is a straight or branched propyl or butyl radical, R 2 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl, X is H, C 2 -C 5 alkyl, a halogen atom or CF 3 , Y is H, C 1 -C 5 alkyl, a halogen atom or CF 3 and one but not more than one of X and Y is always a hydrogen atom are obtained by reacting with a nitrophenol of the formula the reaction being carried out in the presence of a dehydrochlorinating agent and generally in an inert solvent. The products are plant growth regulating agents and may be used as active ingredients in conventional plant-growth regulating compositions.
