Abstract

988,255. Magnetic-type endless conveyers. H. SPODIG. Sept. 7, 1961, No. 1408/62. Divided out of 988,254. Heading B8A. A frame for carrying a non-magnetic conveyer belt 3 comprises channels 4, 5 connected by a plate 6 which extends substantially the full length of the channels and which supports magnets 9. The magnets engage a pole plate 10 which, together with the upper flanges of the channels 4, 5, is extended partly over a discharge roller 2 which is of non-magnetic material. The roller 2 has annular grooves to receive the members 4, 5, 10 and the lower run of the belt 3 is engaged by a roller 13. In a modification, Figs. 4, 6, the roller 2 comprises four soft iron rings 22 and rod magnets 23 fitted in annular spaces between some of the rings. Rings 24 are non-magnetic. Magnetic discs of barium ferrite may replace the rod magnets.
