986,471. Electromagnetic relays. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Nov. 30, 1961 [Nov. 30, 1960], No. 42883/61. Heading H2B. A relay comprising a U-shaped core 1 carrying a winding 9 and a pivoted armature 3 whose ends extend between the jaws of two U-shaped permanent magnets 2 formed on the limb of the core. The armature is balanced and is actuated by the energizing winding 9. The flux produced by the permanent magnets passes transversely through the ends of the armature whereas the flux produced by the energizing winding passes along the length of the armature. The air gaps may be adjusted by magnetic screws 2a.
