985,128. Forced flow steam boilders. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Sept. 3, 1963 [Sept. 22, 1962], No. 34846/63. Heading F4A. In a forced flow steam boiler, especially of the once through type, comprising a mixing tube 6 wherein working fluid from a tube bank 1 is thoroughly mixed before flowing to the next tube bank 11, the distributer head 7, which in Fig. 1 is shown as being of the conventional form wherein all the outlet tubes 8 debouch in the same horizontal plane, is replaced by the head shown in Figs. 2 and 3. This head consists of a cylindrical body 7 open at the lower end to form a mixture inlet and closed at the top and within which is located a number of radial partitions 24 which divide the body into a number of longitudinal chambers 12 . . . 17. The outlet tubes 18 . . . 23 open into respective chambers 12 . . . 17 alternately near the top and bottom thereof so that the head may be made of reduced diameter and wall thickness compared with the conventional form, the partitions ensuring that an equal proportion of mixture of uniform quality discharges through each outlet tube.
