[Also in Division B8] A container having a wall of flexible material is maintained erect by means of inflatable compartments p<SP>1</SP>-p<SP>4</SP> which are secured to the wall, e.g. by welding, sticking or stitching. Straps 14 secure the container to a rigid frame c having handling rings 19. Vents are provided at 23 and 24, a.filling aperture at 22, and drain cock at 25. Compressed air is supplied through a pipe 29. The wall may be of textile fabric, e.g. cotton, or a synthetic material, e.g. a polyamide, superpolyamide or rayon, and may be coated with P.V.C., a polyester or a superpolyamide. The container may be clamped to a platform S, and may be used on a vehicle. Several containers may be joined together to form barges, or they may be secured in a ship's hold. The compartments p<SP>1</SP>-p<SP>4</SP> may be interconnected.
