984,426. Heating mixers. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 24, 1962 [June 9, 1961], No. 20955/61. Heading B1C. [Also in Division B5] A heating and cooling arrangement on the working cylinder of a mixing machine comprises a cylindrical sleeve 1 of non-magnetic material surrounding the working cylinder 2 with clearance to provide a cooling channel, a central entry duct 4 for delivering cooling fluid into the cooling channel to be discharged through outlet ports 5 at opposite ends of the sleeve 1, and a pair of preformed primary induction coils 6, 7, each totally enclosed in axially spaced casings 8, which are preferably of magnetic material such as mild steel, mounted upon sleeve 1. The cooling medium may be air or a forced water spray.
