In a hydrostatic mounting of a longitudinally movable machine part, oil is supplied to a recess (6), passes under surrounding surface (7) and exits through a pipe (11), a seal (8) surrounding chamber (6) and the opening of pipe (11). In Fig. 3 (not shown) pipe (11) opens into an annular groove (911) surrounding the recess (6<SP>11</SP>), and an annular spring-loaded seal (8) surrounds groove (9<SP>11</SP>). A common oil supply manifold (3, Fig. 2, not shown) may supply a number of valve-controlled supply ducts and outlet pipes (11) enter a common valve-controlled outlet manifold (12).
