Abstract

964,434. Hair driers. RONSON CORPORATION. May 2, 1961 [May 3, 1960], No. 37606/63. Divided out of 964,433. Heading A5R. [Also in Division F2] A hose is attached to the outlet of a hair drier by means of a detachable coupling provided with suitably placed apertures to allow the escape of air to atmosphere in the event of the hose becoming blocked. The hose 84, Fig. 1, is fitted to a first coupling member 80 which has wedge-shaped projections 81, around its periphery, co-operating with inwardly directed projections 78 in the outlet of the air drier 12 to provide a quickly detachable bayonet-type coupling. The member 80 has a number of lateral apertures 82 which allow air to escape through the bell-mouthed portion 32 if the hose becomes blocked, and thereby avoids overheating of the motor.
