Abstract

983,026. Electric igniters for gas burners. THERMOR S.A. April 17, 1963 [April 18, 1962; Nov. 20, 1962], No. 15148/63. Heading F4F. In an igniter device for the burner of a gas cooker comprising an electrical resistance 17 disposed in a chamber 13 unitary with the burner, the chamber is below the burner body 2 and has a gas inlet port 14 or ports in its upper wall 9 or inner wall 3 and an aperture 15 in its outer wall 12 communicating with the burner flame apertures 11. The resistance 17 extends through an aperture 18 in a worktable 5 of the cooker and is fixed by a gusset 19 thereon. The chamber 13 is annular and may be disposed eccentrically or concentrically to the burner body. The flame apertures 11 are formed in a cap 7 fitted into a dish 6, having a tubular part 3 to which a gas supply tube 4 is fitted. The aperture 15 is formed in a skirt on the dish 6 and comprises a slot ending in a circular aperture. The aperture may comprise two additional apertures, Fig. 4 (not shown), or may be a slot extending over the whole height of the skirt of the dish and widening at the bottom, Fig. 6 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the igniter is disposed horizontally. In a further modification, Fig. 8 (not shown), the gas inlet port to the ignition chamber is constituted by a tube having an apertured cap.
