Abstract

982,866. Combing machines. DEUTSCHER SPINNEREIMASCHINENBAU INGOLSTADT NIEDERLASSUNG DER SCHUBERT SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G, Aug. 21, 1963 [Oct. 17, 1962], No. 33047/63. Addition to 970,907. Heading D1N. The rectilinear comb of the parent Specification which has a suction aperture 21 along the cylinder between the needles for drawing textile fibres into the needles has means added thereto for pulsing fibres outwards from the needles. As shown, the means comprise a blade 23 made of individual plates and fixed on rail 24 pivoted on pin 26 which is carried by levers 28 mounted on shaft 30. Shaft 30 is linked to a stationary cam disc 33, Fig. 4 (not shown) so that on rotation of the cylinder the blade is pushed through the needles to remove any fibrous clumps therefrom. Spring 29 urges the blade back into the cylinder. Springs 27 press the blade against the needles, or alternatively the blade may form part of duct 22 with a resilient duct member braking on the blade. In modifications, the blade may be stationary and the needles moved, or the edge of aperture 21 may serve as the blade.
