Abstract

982,830. Dish-washing machines. SIEMENS-ELECTROGERATE A.G. Jan. 29, 1964 [Jan. 31, 1963], No. 3884/64. Heading A4F. In an automatic dish washing machine having a programmed operating cycle and a motor-driven discharge pump means are provided for removing steam present in the washing chamber of the machine. In the example shown, washing liquid is circulated to sprays 5, 6, 7 by a circulation pump 4 and steam collecting in the upper portion of the washing chamber 1 is removed through a suction opening 8 by a suction fan 9. The steam is condensed on the walls of pipes 10, 11 and returned to the washing chamber 1. In a further example suction slots are provided adjacent to the door of the machine, outside the washing chamber. In another example steam is removed by a suction pump mounted similarly to the example shown and by a curtain of water directed on to a wall of the washing chamber by a spray pipe connected to a fresh water conduit of the machine. It is suggested that a cooling coil may be used to precipitate the steam and that the fresh water conduit supplying the cooling coil or spray pipe may be provided with a valve controlled by the programme control mechanism of the machine.
