982,259. Securing bolt-like pins. H. P. SCHOFIELD. April 5, 1963 [April 7, 1962], No. 13482/62. Heading F2H. [Also in Division B6] A pin 10, e.g. of aluminium, comprises a pointed or rounded tip 10c and a neck part 10a, forming shoulders 16 at either end of the neck. A plastic element 13, or a metal element with a plastic insert, is provided with a hole 13a countersunk to provide shoulders 11. The pin is inserted by its tip into the hole to the position shown, where it is retained by the shoulders 11, the shoulders 11 and 16 being hidden from view. For securing two plastic tags on either side of an animal's ear, a second neck is formed near the other end of the pin, which end is flat. The shoulders on the pin may be undercut.
