Abstract

1511145 Twistlock fasteners R A H HEARD 6 Aug 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 35066/74 Heading E2B A twistlock fastener comprises a channel 27 having inturned longitudinal lips 34, and a toggle end comprising a sheet in the form of a body 14 connected by a narrower neck 18 to a head 16 having ears 20 bent out of the plane of the head in the same direction, whereby on insertion of the head into the channel (Fig. 3) and twisting, the outside of each ear 20 is forced into intimate contact with the corresponding wall of the channel. Each ear 20 is formed with a bevel truncation 26 to facilitate entry of the head into the channel and a chamferred edge 24 to facilitate twisting. The channel is preferably fixed to a post and the body formed as a strap 10 (Fig 1) or formed with a slot for attachment to a strap 10 (Figs. 2, 3). The other end of the strap may be formed with a similar or different connector, whereby articles may be fixed to a post embraced by the strap.
