Description

1 2321261 System for mounting and securing covers, in particular for heat
andlor sound insulation of buildings.
The invention relates to mounting and securing covers on woodwork or on walls or sides of buildings, and, in particular, to the mounting and securing of a cover comprising an outer facing mounted on a framework formed of profiled sections, in particular metallic profiled sections. covering, if required, a heat insulating and/or sound insulating product, such as a felt of mineral wool.
Numerous systems are known for securing the covers comprising the insulation products. For example, the publication of patent FR-A-2 557 901 describes a securing system comprising attaching means formed of extended metallic plates, one end of which is in the form of a point to allow the series mounting of the insulating material. These attachments are connected to plates or staples provided with wings on which metallic rails (profiled sections) may be secured by clipping, these forming the framework which is necessary for the subsequent positioning of the plates of the covering such as plates of selenite. This system of securing, which is, in general, very 2 satisfactory and is rapid, does not, however, allow an adjustment of the distance separating the staple from the surface to be insulated, once the attaching means is secured to said surface, or even once the rail is clipped onto the staple, this latter not being very easily accessible.
Patent application EP-Al-O 718 451 proposes correcting this problem, by means of an improved system for mounting and securing, a cover comprising a framework which is intended to accommodate a facing and which allows easy mounting of this framework and the maintenance thereof at an adjustable distance in relation to the surface to be covered, and which remains accessible after the positioning of the framework for an optional adjusting of this distance or even for dismounting, as required.
This mounting and securing system comprises:
- a rod performing, in particular, a supporting and spacing function for a framework formed of profiled sections; and a a plate provided with:
1 3 means allowing an adjustment of its position on the rod; and two parts of a flange, arranged along two curved rods, in an arc of the circle or substantially in the arc of a circle, and opposite one another in relation to the centre of the plate, flared towards the exterior of the plate in such a manner as to form, with the base thereof, two clamping jaws allowing an engagement of said parts of the collar between two return wings of the profiled section in a U-shape which is suitable for being used to form the framework, and a subsequent clamping by gripping the two return wings of the profiled section by means of a rotation of the plate in order to perform the profiled section/plate connection. The rotation of the plate between the engaged position and the position providing the connection is from approximately quarter of a turn to approximately a whole number of half turns.
The form and measurements of the plate and the two parts of the flange depend on the U-shaped profiled section forming the framework and may easily be established in the case of a U-shaped profiled section of given measurements: The base of the plate, which, in the connection position, 4 is in contact with the two return rings of the profiled section, is preferably larger than the profiled section and advantageously has a serrated or structured periphery. These characteristics facilitate the operation of rotating the plate used to secure the profiled section and, optionally, to adjust the distance of the profiled section which is already in place on the plate in relation to the surface to be covered. In effect, this securing system allows the distance of the profiled section, and thus the distance of the framework from the surface to be covered, to be adjusted by means of rotation of the plate on the end of the rod, even if the profiled section is fitted and, if required, with the whole framework already in position.
The end of the rod which forms the support and spacing, as opposed to the front one which accommodates the plate, may be provided with a joining piece which serves to secure the system on the surface to be covered (to be insulated). This joining piece may be formed of a plate, or fastening hooks, which may be adhered or screwed or sealed on the surface to be insulated.
It is known, on the other hand, to secure a Ushaped profiled section having two return wings directly onto a surface to be covered, as described above. The complex parts, generally of plastics material, are thus secured to the Ushaped profiled section. To achieve this, it is necessary to have placed them, previously, at one end of the profiled section, in the only position which subsequently allows them to slide in the cavity formed by the profiled section as far as their definitive position. other than the complexity of the plastics material parts mentioned hereinabove, their positioning is delicate and time-consuming and requires great meticulousness.
The present invention relates, exactly. to the securing of a system comprising a rod, which is comparable, as regards its function and its use, to that disclosed in application EP-Al-O 718 451, to the surface to be covered. The object thereof is to simplify, as regards its embodiment, the securing means with which the rod itself is provided and, on the other hand, to simplify the securing process itself, in particular by reducing, considerably, the time which is necessary for this.
For this purpose, there is used a system in which a U-shaped profiled section which comprises two 6 return wings is secured on the surface to be covered. According to the invention, this system comprises a rod one end of which is twisted in such a manner that it may be introduced and then immobilised, with blocking, by simple pivoting, in the main cavity formed by the profiled section, a rigid securing of the rod to the surface to be covered thus being produced, whereas the second end of the rod projects in a manner which is perpendicular to the surface to be covered.
The remarkable advantages obtained by the invention are due to two principal causes. Firstly, the securing of the profiled section to the surface to be covered may be obtained, at the current time, by extremely rapid processes, which are well known to professionals in the building trade and to informed amateurs, such as adhesion, pegging/screwing or, preferably, spraying.
On the other hand, the operation consisting in twisting one end of the rod is easy and quick to perform on the industrial scale; it is, of course, performed automatically and does not require any heating.
The immobilisation with blocking of the rod in the cavity formed by the profiled section is obtained 7 in a simple manner by pivoting, for example manually, and does not require particular dexterity on the part of the operator.
Preferably, the first twisted end of the rod has, in its immobilised and blocked position in the cavity. at least one rectilinear part in contact with the block formed by one of the lateral walls and the corresponding return wing of the profiled section secured to the surface to be covered, a point of contact with the block formed by the other of the lateral walls and the corresponding return wing, and two points of contact with the base wall of this profiled section, in two different transverse sectional planes of the profiled section.
Other features and advantages of the invention are shown in the description of the attached drawing, in which:
Figure la shows, schematically, a first embodiment of the rod according to the invention, in the position of being immobilised in a profiled section, in a lateral view along the longitudinal direction of the profiled section; 8 Figure 1b is a top view of the rod in Figure la, Figures 2a and 2b are views corresponding to those in Figures la and 1b of a second embodiment of the rod according to the invention; and Figure 3 is the view in perspective of the use to which the system according to the invention may be put to insulate a vertical wall.
With reference to Figures la and lb, a rod 1 is immobilised in a profiled section 9. The rod 1 comprises a first end 2 which is twisted and a second threaded rectilinear end 3.
The profiled section 9 is formed of a base wall 13, the two lateral walls 12 and 14 and the two return wings 10 and 11.
From the actual end 8, located at the side of the twisted end 2 of the rod, the rod comprises. successively:
a rectilinear part 4 for contact with the block formed by the lateral wall 12 and the return wing 10; 9 a first point of contact 6 with the base wall 13; a a point of contact 5 with the block formed of the lateral wall 14 and the return wing 11; and a second point of contact 7 with the wall of the base 13.
With reference to Figures 2a and 2b, the corresponding sequence is the following:
a point of contact 5 with the block formed of the lateral wall 12 and the return wing 10; a first point of contact 6 with the base wall 13; - a rectilinear part 4 for contact with the base formed by the lateral wall 14 and the return wing 11; and a second point of contact 7 with the base wall 13.
The immobilisation with blocking of the rod 1 in the cavity formed by the profiled section 9 is performed according to a similar method for the rods which are shown in Figures la, 1b or, respectively, 2a, 2b.
In fact, in both cases, the point of contact 5 first engages under the return wing 11, or, respectively, 10, and then an end of the rectilinear part 4 for contact engages under the return wing 10, or, respectively, 11.
By pivoting, applying a slight force, the rectilinear part 4 contact comes, progressively, to position itself completely under the return wing 10 or, respectively, 11. This is produced with clicking in and the result thereof is a detachable blocking of the rod 1 in the profiled section 9.
In figure 3, there is shown an insulating method using the securing system according to the invention for a vertical wall 19.
This is a matter of insulating a wall 19 with perforated panels formed of mineral wool felts 20, for example of felts of glass wool or rock wool of a volumetric mass of, in particular, between 10 11 kg/m3 and 100 kg/m 3, these panels 20 being covered by a facing 17, for example of plates of selenite secured on a metallic framework 15. This metallic framework 15 is formed of U-shaped profiled sections 16 having two return wings, identical to the profiled sections 9 described hereinabove.
To produce this insulation. the profiled sections 9 are secured on the wall 19, preferably by means of quick-fit systems of the "pistol" type, and rods 1 are secured thereon, in a detachable manner, by click-in connections as is described with reference to Figures la, lb, 2a and 2b, at regular intervals and along the lines of the layers in such a manner as to form a framework on the basis of horizontal profiled sections. When the rods 1 have been secured, the panels 20 of mineral wool are connected onto these rods, and, subsequently, there is screwed onto the projecting threaded end 3 of these rods, in each case, a plate 18, the plates having a central threaded hole and conforming to. for example. the teaching of application EP-Al-O 718 451. The plates 18 serve to support the profiled section 16.
According to a different embodiment of the inventiont neither profiled sections 16 nor facings 17 are used. Each plate is replaced by a 12 retaining part, likewise secured at the second rectilinear end 3 of the rod 1 by any appropriate means (screwing, clicking-in, etc.); the end 3 being, of course, suitable for this purpose. The shape of each retaining piece is simply selected to allow it to ensure that retention of a material which is present, in particular in the form of a mat, for example a heat insulating andlor sound insulating product, preferably on the basis of mineral wall 20, is retained securely on the surface to be covered 19.
The rods 1, the profiled sections 9, 16, plates 18 and said retaining parts are, preferably, metallic.
The diameter of the rod 1 is, preferably, between 3 and 10 mm; in the examples described with reference to the drawings it is 6 m=.
The system according to the invention may be used with advantage for mounting and securing any cover using a framework on the profiled section basis, with or without heat insulating and/or sound insulating product, whether perforated or not.
The system may be mounted on a regular or irregular surface and on a vertical or slanting 13 framework of wood, for example in the form of zigzags when it is a matter of a facing for roof insulation.
The system according to the invention may also be used for coating and heat insulation andlor sound insulation of the outside of the building.
The invention thus makes available a system for mounting and securing which is particularly easy, reliable and rapid to produce, is multipurpose and simple to use.
