982,157. Disc brakes. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM. GES.]. Aug. 29, 1962, No. 33153/62. Heading F2E. A spot-type disc brake has a wheel cylinder 4 open at both ends which is connected to the brake carrier 2 on one side of the disc 1 and comprises two plungers 5, 6 that enclose the working chamber 21. Plunger 5 operates the pad 9 whilst the plunger 6 operates the pad 8 by way of a yoke 7 or other element. Manual actuation of the brake is by a cable operated double-armed lever 11 pivotally secured at 12 to the yoke 7 and acting with its end 13 by way of a rod 14 on the plunger 5. A return spring 17 and a wear take-up device 18 are provided between the lever arm 15 and a lug 19 on the cylinder 4. A pivot 20 for the take-up device 18 on the arm 15 is so devised as to provide clearance for the brake.
