979,594. Injection moulding lids. J. E. GERBER. May 10, 1962 [May 12, 1961], No. 18068/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] A method of injection moulding a lid comprises the steps of injecting plastic into a cavity 15 bounded by two main parts 11 and 12, separating these parts so that the lid remains attached to part 12, moving mould members 20 and 26 downwardly to free a lifting ring 5, and applying pressure to the bottom of the lid to remove it from the part 12. The mould member 26 is forced downward by hydraulic or pneumatic means and it forces mould member 20 with it until a ring 21 contacts the end wall of a recess 22. The mould member 26 then continues its downward motion to apply the pressure to the lid to remove it from the part 12.
